Blueprints for Michigan's Downtowns
As a selected Blueprints for Michigan's Downtowns community, the
City of Hillsdale underwent an intensive market study of its core
Downtown known as the Blueprint Target Area. The resulting plan is
a five year, market driven strategy, aimed at creating new jobs and
investment as well as enhancement of the overall appeal and
marketability of the Downtown as a destination spot for residents
and visitors alike.
Work has already started on using the Blueprint to better our
downtown and community. On Monday December 8th, The Hillsdale City
Council adopted the plan as part of the City's overall plan and
directed the Planning Commission to incorporate the Blueprint into
the City's Master Land Use Plan. On Wednesday December 10th, the
Planning Commission started the process of amending the Master Land
Use Plan to include the Blueprint.
