Hillsdale County itself is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise with 350 lakes and ponds and holds the headwaters of five major rivers. Many lakes, including Lake Baw Beese, are located within the Hillsdale City limits and offer a wide variety of watersports activities. Multiple City-owned parks and the Baw Beese Trail, an 8-mile walking and biking path, offer residents and visitors the chance to enjoy outdoor activities year round.
